Why Choose J&M Cleanouts?
J&M Cleanouts
What Sets J&M Cleanouts Apart
One of the greatest assets of J&M Cleanouts is that we are an owner-operated corporation. What does that mean? Let me explain. When you call J&M Cleanouts, the owner—myself, John Merritt—answers the phone and assists you personally from start to finish. I handle all phone calls, provide all estimates, and am present on every job. If I’m unable to give you a quote over the phone, I’ll meet you on-site for a fast, hassle-free estimate. Most estimates take less than 15 minutes. Once you show me what needs to be done and hauled away, I’ll give you a free estimate. The price won’t change, and there are never any hidden fees. Once we agree on a price, I’ll schedule a service date that works for both of us.
I’ll return with the crew to ensure the cleanout goes smoothly. With most other companies, you’ll speak to one person who takes a message, then another who calls you back, a third who comes out for the estimate, and finally a fourth person—whom you’ve never met—shows up on the day of the cleanout. That’s a recipe for disaster. Something always tends to go wrong. With over 20 years of experience in this industry, I’ve seen it all and done it all. I built this business from the ground up, based on pride, integrity, and reliability. Our reputation and reviews speak for themselves.
Another major advantage of working with J&M Cleanouts is that we are fully licensed and insured. We carry General Liability and NYS Workers’ Compensation. We have all the necessary documentation to work in any building in New York. Most other companies—about 75%—are not insured. Our licensing and insurance protect both J&M and you, the customer, from potential injuries or damages that could occur on your property. Imagine the nightmare of hiring an uninsured company and having a worker get hurt or damage something. If you’re ever in doubt, ask for proof of insurance.
J&M Cleanouts is also licensed by the New York City Business Integrity Commission (#489952). What does that mean? In NYC, any company that picks up, transports, or dumps trash must be licensed or registered. Before issuing a license, the BIC conducts background checks on the business and its principals, including fingerprinting and photographing. So before letting strangers into your home or business, make sure they’re licensed by the NYC Business Integrity Commission. If they’re not licensed, they can’t legally use NYC dumps—so who knows where your items will end up?

Our trucks are larger than those used by franchise competitors, allowing us to finish most jobs in one day. Don’t be fooled by per-truck fee tactics—especially when companies claim they don’t know how many trucks they’ll need. They often avoid breaking down large items, filling trucks faster, and charging for extra loads.
J&M Cleanouts provides all necessary tools and supplies to get the job done quickly and safely. Most jobs are completed in one day, and smaller jobs may qualify for same-day service. Every job is left broom-swept.
